Faith Immanuel Presbyterian Church is pleased to present the Mendelssohn Piano Trio in concert on Sunday, September 29, 2019 at 3:00 p.m. as they explore the birth and development of Romantic sensibility from its origins in the 18th century. The “Sturm und Drang” movement manifested itself in the music of Haydn and Beethoven, which reached its peak in the highly emotionally charged style of late Brahms. Translated as “Storm and Stress” the musical movement features large leaps and unpredictable melodic contours often in minor keys which reflect the strong changes of emotion. The talented trio is comprised of three master artists well known in our region. Ya-Ting Chang (piano), Peter Sirotin (violin), and Fiona Thompson (cello) comprise the Mendelssohn Piano Trio which has performed over 500 concerts in the U.S., Europe and Asia. Locally they perform with the Harrisburg Symphony Orchestra, while Peter Sirotin and Ya-Ting Chang co-direct Market Square Concerts. The concert is free and open to the public. Plan to join us for a concert you won’t want to miss.
