Blessing the Animals Service SATURDAY Oct 12th

A Blessing of the Animals service will be conducted at 2 p.m. on SATURDAY Oct. 12, on the grounds at Faith Immanuel Presbyterian Church, 1801 Colonial Rd.

The service of music, scripture, message and blessings for “all creatures great and small” will be officiated by Rev. Allison Spooner, pastor of Faith Immanuel, and assisted by Roz Presby.

Free homemade pet treats, paw balm, pet bandanas and participation certificates will be available. Donations of pet supplies will be accepted on behalf of the Humane Society of Harrisburg.

Dauphin County Library System’s MARCO outreach van will be on site with information about The Library’s Paws to Read program and more.

Participants are asked to come with lawn chairs or blankets. Animals are to either be on a six-foot leash or less or appropriately secured. A dog relief area, waste bags and water will be available.

The service is held rain or shine.

We had a ‘preview’ of Animal Blessing this past Sunday and here are the photographs!
